CAMP PACIFICA
 An Outdoor Experience for
 Special Needs Children

In July 2007 we begin our 30th year of providing an outdoor education and recreation program for deaf, hearing impaired impaired children for children throughout California and Nevada. This is our fifteenth year at the former Skylake Ranch property on Highway 49 between Mariposa and Oakhurst near Awahnee. The 54.5 acre parcel was purchased by the Camp Pacifica Corporation, a California nonprofit corporation, in 1992. The camp runs a two week summer camp for hearing impaired children.

Activities for the campers include swimming, canoeing, arts and crafts, nature walks, horseback riding, riflery, and archery. The campership fee is $300 per week. Every child from California is accepted.

Counselors are fluent in sign language and have experience working with children. Staff to child ratio is 1 to 5. Medical staff is on site 24 hours a day. Camp Pacifica is located near Yosemite National Park. It is open to boys and girls, ages 7 to 15.
